Absconding rape accused Bitti Mohanty arrested in Kerala

Bitti Mohanty, who was convicted for raping a German woman at Alwar in Rajasthan in 2006 and had been absconding after his release on parole the same year, has been arrested from Kerela’s Kannur district. Bitti’s father was former DGP of Odisha, Bidya Bhushan Mohanty. The Kerala Police informed the Rajasthan Police about the arrest. Bitti will be produced in court later in the day. A special police team led by Kannur SP Rahul R Nair on Friday night arrested Bitti from Pazhayangadi in Kannur after getting tip off that he was working in a bank. The Kerela Police said he was working in Kannur for the last one year on a fake identity.
