Two homemade bombs exploded in Bangladeshi capital Dhaka at the site of massive protests taking place to urge the death penalty for war criminals for their role in the 1971 liberation conflict. One security official was injured in the incident. Protesters carrying bamboo sticks ran towards a building from where they believed the bombs were hurled from to look for suspects. Police detained 15 suspects. Singer Bulbul Mahalanabish was also at the rally when the blasts took place.
