 KD Malaviya resigned over corruption charges in 1963: Virgin Islands Daily   According to The Virgin Islands Daily News published on June 26, 1963, the Union Minister KD Malaviya (Minister of Mines & Fuels) resigned due to corruption charges. The then Prime Minister Jawahar Lal Nehru finds scandal in his backyard. The newspaper wrote: “Specific charges against Malviya were that he had granted unwarranted privileges to a Calcutta-based firm from which he had earlier obtained a campaign contribution of Rs 10,000. ”
