Karnataka BJP chief Prahlad Joshi on Thursday said that nearly three-and-half lakh people have registered for BJP’s Prime Ministerial candidate Narender Modi’s rally slated to be held on November 17 in Bangalore.
It had sent five lakh coupons priced Rs 10 to various taluks, mandals and district units for registration and is now planning to close the registration as it feels that the figure could shoot up rapidly, causing challenges for the management on the rally day, sources said.
A separate registration for the rally was being done online although the number of people registering online was not known.
The BJP has also requested the railways to run eight special trains to bring people from all over the State to the rally ground. It has also paid advance money for the reservation.
Besides Modi other senior party leader are also expected to take part in the rally on November 17.
On Thursday evening, State BJP leaders held a meeting among themselves and also with the RSS leaders over the preparations for the Bangalore rally. Former Chief Ministers SD Gowda and Jagadish Shettar attended the meeting along with senior party leader and MP Ananth Kumar, former deputy Chief Minister R Ashok, K S Eeshwarappa and others.
